Access Audits
These are the core of our business; in essence these are a survey of the building looking at it from the view point of disabled people. So that could be say someone with a hearing impairment, thinking about background noise at a reception point, or someone with poor manual dexterity, can the doors be easily opened or the WC door easily locked. A rule of thumb here is that handles, switches and controls should be operable with a clenched fist or elbow.
The audit reports are designed to suit the end user, for there is no point in producing a document that cannot be used or understood. Our reports are individual to the site/portfolio concerned as computerised tick box tools cannot deal with the individual design features of buildings or look at the building as a whole. We also do not sell any of the products that are recommended in our reports, this way you get an unbiased report.
Ian Streets, Managing Director of About Access, is an accredited NRAC Access Auditor, providing you with confidence that your Access Audit is fully compliant and will satisfy your accessiblity requirements.
