Design Appraisals

Design appraisals provide an essential review of the building design, and make recommendations, when appropriate, so that it is accessible and an inclusive design. About Access will provide a design appraisal that helps designers provide buildings that are accessible taking into account present legislation around disability, essential if meeting part M of the Building Regulations and Planning.

This is about looking at plans and making comments on accessibility, for it is cheaper to make corrections or improvements at the design stage rather than during the construction phase or when completed. Using our experience and understanding of access within design, we produce a report on the accessibility of the project, making recommendations to the design team to save cost and time on any potentially expensive design errors or simply making suggestions towards improved access. This service can truly be a cost saving one, as often a little knowledge can be dangerous or expensive.
