Training
Want to learn how to audit buildings we have a course for you. This includes understanding user needs, relevant legislation, design principles, and a practical session.
For staff and management - Disability Equality Training, a must so that staff are aware of their duties under the DDA and managers can have an understanding how company policy can have its affect on the service provided.
We also run courses for planners/building control/architects on design features and why, it is often the small detail that can create the biggest barrier to access. Have you ever wondered why an accessible WC is laid out the way it is, this course will provide the answers.
Training is available on access to and the use of buildings (Part M); a section of the Building Regulations that are relevant to access for disabled people. The training deals with how design features help disabled people use buildings rather than the technical side e.g. measurements. The training, for example, tells delegates how a visually impaired person will use colour contrast or how an accessible WC can be used and why support rails, wash hand basin are located where they are.
For Building Control departments we have run the course in two sections repeating the morning in the afternoon so that the office is not left unattended.

Hull and North Lincs. Building Control found the Part M workshops to be interesting and informative. Provided in house, the training was a convenient and cost effective method of updating staff on new legislation. - Hull and North Lincs. Building Control
